I don't really see the point to be honest, but sure, it beats sideways logs I guess.

Well the problem is Nether mobs will be able to come in through the portals too, which is a major issue. We'll end up having to block up our portals when we're not using them or build a well-sealed facility around them (reminds me of Half-Life at this point).

Ah, yeah. I only thought about it for going into the nether, not coming back. What about the end portals? Dragons in the overworld...
